Stott Elementary is a PBS school, and uses the guiding principles of Positive Behavior Support as our discipline plan. PBS is a school-wide system of positive behavior support, with common language and consistent expectations and consequences designed to enhance the capacity of school to educate all students.

The formal description states that PBS is a systems approach to enhancing the capacity of schools to educate all students by establishing:

Students are rewarded for having SOLE by getting a sticker that is put on a shoe chart. When a child fills up his/her chart, he/she gets to choose a prize. Students are also recognized for positive behaviors through the Stott Star program. Teachers choose 1-3 students each month to be a Stott Star. These students exhibit the majority of the following characteristics: show extra effort, follow directions, turn in homework on time, step up to help others, show improvement in academics, show improvement in school behavior, are kind to others, display exceptional manners, and is polite.
